Supplements and Nutraceutical Testing

FDA regulates both finished dietary supplement products and dietary ingredients. FDA regulates dietary supplements under a different set of regulations than those covering "conventional" foods and drug products. Under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA):

  • Manufacturers and distributors of dietary supplements and dietary ingredients are prohibited from marketing products that are adulterated or misbranded.  That means that these firms are responsible for evaluating the safety and labeling of their products before marketing to ensure that they meet all the requirements of DSHEA and FDA regulations.

  • FDA is responsible for taking action against any adulterated or misbranded dietary supplement product after it reaches the market.

ISO17025:2017 Accredited Third Party Testing for Manufactures and Distributors

Following FDA Guidelines, both manufacturers and distributors are required to ensure that their products are safe. We offer Quality control testing for both manufacturers and distributors including Amazon sellers.

Distributors may be worried that their products, whether they are manufactured domestically or internationally, are actually safe. We work with many distributors to ensure that their products meet their specifications as well as all FDA safety requirements.

Third party platforms, including Amazon, require that all dietary supplements sold on their platform meet all local and nations regulations including FDA regulations. Please click here to learn more about being compliant with Amazon policies.

Manufacturers need to certify that their products meet certain specifications. We offer a full range of services to meet manufacturers' quality control needs as well as service for method development and product formulations.
